Privacy Policy

Our Core Privacy Principle: Zero Prompt Collection

All text pasted into the Token Counter or Cost Estimator is processed exclusively inside your local browser memory using client-side JavaScript tokenizers. We never log, transmit, store, or inspect your prompts, tokens, or outputs on our servers.

1. Information We Collect & Zero-Data Guarantee

Because TokenMath operates primarily client-side, our collection of personal information is strictly minimized:

  • Zero Prompt Retention: All prompts, files, code, and text inputs entered into our web calculators or piped into the npx @tokenmath/tokenmath CLI companion execute 100% locally in your browser or machine runtime. We never transmit, log, train on, or store your prompts.
  • Browser Local Storage: We store your UI preferences (such as selected currency, default model, and cookie consent choices) locally on your device via HTML5 localStorage.
  • Aggregated Technical Telemetry: We collect anonymized, non-personally identifiable technical logs (e.g. browser user agent, coarse country-level geography, HTTP referrers, and page views via Google Analytics) to maintain uptime and performance.
  • External Data Feeds & APIs: Our daily currency exchange rate calculations query public endpoints at open.er-api.com cached at the edge. No personal user identifiers are shared with exchange rate providers.
  • Contact Inquiries: If you reach out via our contact form or corrections desk, we collect your email address solely to process your editorial or technical request.

2. Cookies, CPM Advertising Networks & Opt-Out

TokenMath may display advertisements served by third-party advertising partners (including Google AdSense, developer CPM syndication networks, and partner networks) to support the ongoing maintenance and infrastructure costs of our free tools.

Third-party vendors and ad exchanges may use cookies, device identifiers, web beacons, and JavaScript tags to serve relevant advertisements, prevent fraudulent clicks, and measure campaign delivery. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to TokenMath and other sites across the web.

You have full control over your advertising preferences:

  • You can opt out of personalized Google advertising at Google Ads Settings.
  • You can opt out of third-party interest-based ad networks via the Digital Advertising Alliance at aboutads.info or the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance at youronlinechoices.eu.
  • You can withdraw or customize your cookie consent preferences at any time using our on-site Cookie Preferences manager.

3. GDPR & European Privacy Rights

If you reside within the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you are entitled to statutory rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including:

  • The right to access, rectify, or erase personal data.
  • The right to object to or restrict processing.
  • The right to withdraw cookie consent at any time.

4. California Privacy Disclosures (CCPA / CPRA)

Under California consumer privacy legislation, California residents possess the right to request disclosure of categories of personal information collected. We do not sell your personal information or prompt data.
